TRUE PEACE AND FALSE

A book about the ways of death, not the death of the self, but of the world as we once knew.

True Peace and False by Thiago Dezan explores the fragile boundaries between survival, faith, and abandonment in contemporary society. Photographed over several years across the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, Italy, and France, the project focuses on people living on the margins, in streets, squats, abandoned buildings, favelas, and other precarious spaces. While confronting violence, neglect, and deprivation, the work also reveals moments of dignity, care, faith, and resilience. Ultimately, the book reflects on visibility and exclusion, questioning what society chooses to acknowledge or ignore and emphasizing the humanity of those too often overlooked.
